My NATURAL HAIR WASH routine for soft & HEALTHY HAIR
~ If you would like to know how I take care of my hair in a natural way, I would definitely read on!
M. NELLA
I believe natural is best. That is, as it were, my life motto. I wear clothes made of natural materials as much as possible, but I also take care of my hair as naturally as possible. The products I use for my hair are free of fragnances and other bad products.
It might be nice to know what my hair looks like. First of all, it is naturally blond and therefore not dyed. Even if I had had a different hair color, I would not have dyed it.
I believe that embracing yourself in your most authentic form is very important. At least in my life.
In addition, my hair is straight, people often think I’ve straightened it. I haven’t, I don’t use heat on my hair. By the way, I do have a bit of special hair because if you look at individual hairs, it has a kind of wafer effect. You know, that which was popular in the 90s. But then of course a bit more subtle, especially in sunlight it is clearly visible. Oh well, I do have more special things with my body. I could write a whole article about it. What’s your ‘weird thing’?
When I used the shampoo and conditioner I now use for the first time, I couldn’t believe there was no fragnance in it. It doesn’t smell like perfume at all, just very natural. Really delicious! When you smell it, you don’t understand why they put all that crap in hair products. In my other blog post I will tell you more about the shampoo and conditioner I use.
In this blog post I am going to tell you my hair washing routine. Maybe you don’t find it interesting at all, then you can go now. If you would like to know how I take care of my hair in a natural way, I would definitely read on!
my routine
1. shampoo
ABOUT
What: Put shampoo in my hair.
How: The first thing I do is make sure my hair is very wet. That is quite a job and therefore takes a while. It often stays dry, especially under my hair at my neck. In that case I turn the shower up a little harder to get hair wet.
When my hair is well wet I take a little shampoo on my hands, not too much. I spread it between my hands and then spread it over the front of my hair. Just think of a hair band that goes around your head (at the front).
Then I put some more shampoo on my hands. I divide this bit over the top and back of my head. I often use a little more soap for this because otherwise it quickly becomes greasy.
Sometimes I still use a little shampoo that I distribute at the bottom of my head and behind my ears.
2. conditioner
ABOUT
What: Apply conditioner to the ends of my hair.
How: I love using my conditioner. It smells so good, trust me! And that while there is no perfume in it. Just wow!
Okay but now let’s talk about how I apply my conditioner. If you are interested 😉 Before applying conditioner I make sure the shampoo is gone. I apply the conditioner to my hair from slightly above my shoulders to the tips. I’ve also only used it on the ends, but I’ve noticed that the conditioner makes my hair soft. And well… then I don’t mind spreading it a little higher. Some say it’s not good but I think you should look at your own hair and see what works for you. Anyway, this is what makes my hair very soft.
3. COMBing
ABOUT
What: Comb my hair in the shower.
How: I like to comb my hair in the shower. I do this very carefully by starting at the bottom. Also, I don’t push through if there’s a tangle in it. In addition, I do this while there is still conditioner in it.
4. Air dry
ABOUT
What: Read a book and let your hair dry in the sun.
How: I let the elements of nature do its work. It might take some planning if you’re used to washing your hair in the morning and then having to leave quickly. Then you will dry your hair with a hair dryer. I don’t, because I believe it’s better to let nature take its course. However, I have sometimes used a hairdryer, but my hair looks deader and is less beautiful.
I often wash my hair after exercise and then I have more time. I also wash my hair at night. I don’t mind sleeping with wet hair.
5. brushing
ABOUT
What: Brushing my hair <3
How: When my hair is almost dry, I brush it. I have noticed that my hair is less frizzy then. If I properly brush my hair while it is still completely wet, I pull out all the hairs. I feel like it’s pointless too, when it’s dry it’s still sticky. So yes… I brush my hair in between. Not dry, not wet. At least that works best for me.
