How to look CLASSY & EDGY + What’s you fashion style?

~ Don’t mindlessly follow trends. You will end up looking like everyone.

Hello there friends! It’s time for a new blog! And this time it’s about how you can look classy and edgy at the same time. As I have studied my style over the years, I have realized I really like this combination. Just take a look at my pinterest board: Beauty.

I like the simplistic and minimalism of the classy style. It’s kinda like my personality, just simple and down to earth. You don’t need all the craziness to stand out. There are already enough of these people. Don’t get me wrong, you can be crazy! Everyone has a crazy side in them. However, I don’t like to show off everything about myself on the first impression. I am a private persona and some may say that I am too secretive. I can’t change it, it’s my nature. I like the hidden.

That brings me to the other style I like: Edgy. I have to be honest, I don’t like the tumblr type of edgy. You know those e-girl vibes. Yeahh, big no for me. I also don’t like satanism, for obvious reasons, therefore that’s also not the type of edgy I have in mind. I like edgy details. I will explain more about this now.

Pinterest helped me figure out my style, I recommend using this platform to find your interest! When I scrolled through the photos I saw a pattern in the looks I pinned. What I saw is that most of the looks were simple, but had a little edge in them. Whether it was an all black look or edgy accessories. I liked the combination of class, with a sparkle of darkness. I think that also represents me. I am simple and free spirited but I also have a certain mystery around me. Most of the time I keep quiet and don’t overshare things in public.

The clothes you wear are the first impression others have of you. If you want to attract a certain type of person, you should wear certain types of clothes. And because you don’t want to attract people that aren’t like you, you need to wear clothes that represent you. It doesn’t matter what your style is, as long as it feels authentic to you.

Don’t mindlessly follow trends. You will end up looking like everyone.

Try to find your own style. It doesn’t need to be with bright colors or crazy patterns. I think it’s about balance. Find out what you like and incorporate trends that you like and go with your body type.

Since I am small, certain clothings look very good on me. But other things make me look like a child or extremely skinny. A long tight dress won’t do anything for me. But now I am drifting off, so I will just start with writing my blog here. Scroll down to find out how to get a classy fashion style with a little edge.

All the pictures used in this blog post aren’t mine. I found those beautiful outfits on the instagram account of this women: M I S H A M I L L E R. I love her style, so you should check her out! You should also listen to her song and this other one.

This one may seem obvious, howevere I don’t mean just a leather jacket. I think we have seen enough of those type of leather jackets.

Every millenial owns one.

And yes, I think they look great. But they don’t have that ‘wow’ factor (anymore). Therefore, opt for an oversized leather jacket. You can also choose for one with graffiti on it. Or a combination like the one you see below. I love how her hair is very classy and put together while het jacket is very edgy. To me, the perfect combination: feminine but edgy.

A pair of black boots look very classy. Furthermore, I think they bring out the dark feminine. While everyone wears sneakers, a pair of black boots make you stand out. I love how a simple pair of black boots immediately elevate your outfit.

I think one of the trends we are going to see a lot this season is leather trousers. Therefore it’s the perfect time to invest in one! These type of trousers are perfect for a classy or minimalistic outfit in the winter. But they also add a little edge.

4. MONOCHROME *black*

An all black look gives you the ultimate femme fatale vibes. Classy and sophisticated but with an aura of mystery around her. Wearing all black may not be very suitable in the summer, but in the autumn and winter there are no excuses. Go for an all black look!

5. CUT OUTS *trendy @ the moment*

I think with cut outs you have to be careful. It’s easy to look juvenile, however you can get away with a lot in black. Just make sure it’s covering and the cutouts are at the right places and highlight your beauty. It gives an edgy look, like you fought with a lion or something. But… the cuts need to be subtle in my opinion. Nonetheless, it’s a great way to combine personal style with trends.

If you don’t one already, I would reccomend to get one. Especially if you want to get in touch with your femininity. Because I think that owning a corset can help you with that. I already wrote a blog post about the best corsets. You can check it out here if you want to.

Sometimes an all black look is too boring. Just a black blazer will make you look classy, but sometimes it’s too boring, it’s missing something. A good alternative can be a blazer with a simple pattern as you can see in the photo below. Adding studs, pearls or spikes also make the outfit more intresting and edgy.

Last but definitely not least, use the power of black. Black embodies elegance and secrets, if that’s your vibe, then use the color black. Everyone looks good in black! Check out this blog post I wrote about how the colors you are wearing can affect you and what they subconciously represent.

I really hope that this blog post inspired you. Is your style also classy with a little edge? Let me know (in the comments) what your style is like <3 I love reading comment from you guys (or girls)!
