Difference Synthetic VS Natural Perfume- Why Switch To Natural Perfumes
~ Lucky for us, who want to smell good but also want to leave a positive impact on ourselves, people around us and the planet, there is an alternative. Natural perfumes!
Smell is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful senses. It therefore doesn’t come as a surprise that perfumes are one of a girls favorite beauty products.
You don’t need fancy makeup skills, you only need a bottle with a nice smell.
There is a dark side to this story. A story that big companies try to hide. However, they are not succeeding because of the internet.
Knowledge is easily accessible to everyone. More and more people are waking up to see the dark side of traditional perfumes.
So what are those traditional perfumes?
Traditional perfumes (Synthetic)
Traditional perfumes don’t fall out of the sky. Even though you can smell them in the sky 😉
They are created by companies using a, what you could call, recipe. The FDA has a list of all the ingredients that are accepted in perfumes, which are more than 1200 ingredient.
Most of those substances are synthetic, they are chemicals. They are created for humans by humans and as we have learned, a lot of the time this isn’t always the healthiest option.
But what’s the problem with that, you might ask?
If we could just check the ingredient list before buying a perfume, we know if there is a bad (or synthetic) substance in it. And that’s exactly the problem.
The ingredient list from a lot of these perfumes are secret because of a trade secret.
I understand that as a company you don’t want any company to know how to make the best seller smell. But that means that for us humans, we don’t know what we are spraying (or rolling) on ourselves.
Adverse health effects
Let’s now focus on the risks that synthetic perfumes have. Some of the adverse health effects include more frequent migraines.
If you have ever had a migraine, you know how annoying this can be.
One time I was on a train and someone opened a candy bag. That smell triggered a migraine for me. So even if you are not prone to having migraines, people around you may be more sensitive and your smell can trigger a migraine by those people.
Another side effect of using synthetic perfumes is that they can cause skin issues. Think about it for a moment. If your skin can get issues, it absorbs it.
So your body absorbs the synthetic ingredients of synthetic perfume. Of course, in small amounts, but still. It’s a nasty idea to think about.
Let’s change it!
I don’t want these bad ingredients in my body. I wouldn’t eat them. So why spray them on my skin. I think we should look at external (beauty) products the same way we look at food.
After all, you are what you eat. You eat natural, you are natural.
That’s a mindset that I want to create for myself. Just be authentic and live in peace with nature. I hope that I can inspire you to do the same.
Lucky for us, who want to smell good but also want to leave a positive impact on ourselves, people around us and the planet, there is an alternative. Natural perfumes!
You may have heard the term before.
It means exactly what it says, perfumes made from nature.
If you have never heard of this term before, a door will open for you. First I also didn’t know about these perfumes. But since I started doing more research into holistic and natural clean beauty products, I have come across tons of brands who make natural perfumes.
So any differences?
And I know what you are thinking. Don’t these ‘natural’ perfumes smell like leaves?
Nope. They don’t.
These natural perfumes smell a lot like synthetic perfumes, but a bit more natural.
I do think you will smell a difference once you start using the natural perfumes. You will start to smell how synthetic the traditional perfumes smell.
They don’t smell sexy, they smell toxic. We don’t want a toxic relationship, right?
We want a sexy relationship. A relationship full of love and authenticity. That’s exactly what these natural perfume brands want.
Were to buy them
Of course some brands might have better smells than others. Since the perfumes are all natural, they can be different on everyones body, keep that in mind.
The stereotype that they are for hippies couldn’t be further from the truth. The green movement is growing every year. More and more influencers are promoting brands, including natural perfume brands. As a result, the users of natural perfumes are also growing.
I love to see how we all start to support smaller brands that have a good vision and want to promote a healthier lifestyle. Whether that concerns our health or our planet. It’s time to step away from these big brands making big money from this and start to support our own communities.
The bands <3
I will now list a few brands that have very great perfumes, most of these brands are 100% natural, cruelty free and vegan. The brands that I reccomend and my own opinion. I don’t get paid by any of them <3
