6 TIPS to NATURALLY get better looking SKIN *glowing*

There are so many ways you can improve your skin in a natural way. You don’t need to use harsh chemicals on your skin to make it glow.
Sometimes, we tend to overcomplicate things. It doesn’t have to be hard to get glowing skin.
Sometimes, all you need is the right tip and some time.

In this blog post I will give you 7 tips to naturally get better looking skin.
We all want to have that glow on our face and/or body 🙂
But first let’s take a quick look into why we should care for our skin!
Why care?
I think a few years ago people put anything into their skin that worked well for others. Of course not everyone did this. But what I saw is that people cared less about what was in for example, their skincare products.
We are now seeing that this is shifting.
More and more people are discovering clean skincare products and natural skincare brands are popping up everywhere. This shows us that we are moving towards an era in which people care more about what’s inside products we use on a daily basis.
We no longer follow the mainstream media that tells us to do XYZ. No, we want to support smaller brands that are good for People, Planet and Profit. We want to use good products on our skin without all those toxics.
And this is also where the first reason has to do with:
1. 515 Synthetic Chemicals EVERY DAY!
According to a study among Australian women, women put on an average day 515 synthetic chemicals on their skin. Don’t get me wrong, not all synthetic chemicals are wrong.
But…
At the end of the day they are still synthetics.
I personally love nature and I believe that lot’s of skin issues can be solved with mother earth’s love <3
So here comes the second reason why you should care about your skin.
2. It’s the largest organ
Yepp!!
It’s the largest organ you have in your body. Therefore, this organ should be treated with lots of love and care.
Since it’s such a big part of our body, it can let us know if something is wrong. (Of course not in every situation.)
Is it very stressful on your work? And did acne ‘randomly’ pop up? Take a self care sunday. It’s important to listen to your body, it speaks to you 🙂

The TIPS
Okay so now we have looked into WHY you should take care of your skin. We are going to look into how you can get that glowing skin. Here are 7 tips you can get naturally better looking skin.
1. Drink water
I know. I know.
You have probably heard this one about a thousand times before. However, it is very important!
I forgot the exact percentage we consist of water. But let me tell you… It’s a lot!
Just googled it and our skin consists of 70–75% of water!
So yeahh! Enough reason to drink your water. I always bring a bottle of water with me. It’s the only thing I drink besides fruit juices like apple or jus d’orange.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast
There are lots of reasons why you should eat breakfast. Here we are going to focus on the skin.
After a whole night of sleep, your tummy is empty. Therefore, the first meal (breakfast) that goes in there has a lot of impact on your skin.
You should eat a healthy breakfast full of ingredients that make your skin glow.
You can start your day with some fruit or oatmeal. Drinking milk or green tea on the side is also very healthy.
3. Eat your veggies
As stated above, beginning the day with fruits is very healthy. But not only fruits are good for your skin.
Those vegetables are also superfoods!
Here in the Netherlands we have a rule that is advised by health organizations: 2 pieces of fruit and 3 pieces of vegetables every day.
This is what I try to aim for everyday. And I think it can be helpful tool to see if you had enough vegetables.

4. Exercise
Of course the benefits of exercise are countless. Way too many to sum up, so I am going to explain why it’s good for your skin.
When you move your body, your blood flow improves and thus it gives ‘food’ to your cells. Also the cells in your skin, therefore your skin will improve.
Exercising also decreases your stress levels, which is also healthy. I am going to talk about this in a minute.
The benefits of exercising are countless!
I try to exercise everyday. If my body feels sore, I will do something less intense, such as walking or yoga/pilates.
I hope you too take care of your body and thus skin 🙂
5. Relax, don’t stress
We already went over this. Lowering your stress levels is very important.
Take a day off work if you feel like it’s too much. Your skin can tell you if you are stressed.
Of course, if you have always had certain skin issues, like acne, stress might not be a factor. But it doesn’t hurt anyone to be mindful of it.
You can implement a self care sunday or a nighttime ritual you do everyday to relax. It also helps you fall asleep faster.
6. Invest in your skin
You can see your skin as the skeleton of a house. Your pores allow things to enter just like a door.
It is therefore of importance to make sure you don’t let ‘unfriendly people’ inside.
One way you can do this is by looking at the skincare products you use.
I already said in the beginning that on average women put 515 synthetics into their skin. Some of these will be absorbed into the body.
And what happens next… We can’t see that.
I don’t even want to try it out. I will just use natural or clean skincare products.
