6 Self-Care Sunday Ideas You Need to Try

Maintaining our mental and physical well-being is very important of course. There are many ways we can take care of our mental and physical well-being. One way you can do this is by introducing a self-care sunday to your week. In most western countries, Sunday is the day of rest. Therefore it’s the perfect day to spend more time on ourselves and our happiness. After a busy week it’s time to recharge our batteries. 

In this blog post I will give you 10 ideas on what you can do on your self-care sunday. You can do everything in one day. However, this is not practical for most of us. Especially if you are not used to doing these things. That’s why you should scroll through this page and see what attracts your attention. Depending on what area you want to focus on this sunday, choose something you want to dedicate this day to. I’ve tried to create a list with ideas to take care of your physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual well-being.

1. Start the day with yoga or pilates

The first self-care sunday idea on this list is to do some yoga or pilates. It’s a slow way to start the morning. Not too hard but still challenging. How challenging you want it to be is going to depend on your mood. On youtube you can find tons of workout videos you can follow. If you want to focus more on the mental and physical side on this day, you can do pilates. If you want to incorporate your spiritual well-being too, you can choose to do yoga. 

2. Read a good book 

Another great way to start your self-care Sunday is to read a good book. You can read a fiction book and get lost in the story. Or you can read a book about an interesting subject, this way you immediately activate your brain in the morning. Reading a book in the morning is also a great way to recharge your batteries for the rest of your day. This will in turn help you get the most out of your self-care sunday 😊

3. Eat healthy meals/snacks 

During the week it might be harder to have enough time to prepare a healthy meal or snack. Since most people don’t work on Sunday, this day is perfect to invest time into your eating habits. There is no excuse to not start your day with a healthy meal. 

4. Play your favorite playlist

While going about your day, listen to your favorite music. Choose your playlist according to your mood. If you want to calm down, listen to calm songs. If I want to feel alive, I listen to more intense music that activates my body. Now that I think of it, you can listen to music depending on what area/aspect you want to activate. Your physical, mental, sensual(feelings) or spiritual/energetic self. (The lower, middle and/or higher self) 

5. Create & Express 

Sundays are also the perfect day to express your creativity! Of course you should create whenever you feel like it. But Sundays just have something different to them. You can do something you already enjoy doing like painting or making mood boards. However you can also do something you’ve never done before. 6. Get outside 

I think the most fulfilling feelings you can get are found outside the house. They can be found on the beach, in a forest or even in your backyard. The best memories are made outside the house I believe. Therefore going for a hike in nature is perfect for a self-care sunday!
